One Land, Two Passions

AT THE ORIGIN OF MOREL LIES AN ANCESTRAL JURASSIAN TRADITION: THAT OF "L’ÉTABLISSAGE."

To live in harmony with nature, the inhabitants of the Jura developed a dual expertise, practiced according to the seasons. Farmers during the warmer months, they worked metals to craft frames with the first snowfalls... And so was born the ancestor of the very first glasses: the pince-nez.

A Pioneer, Jules Morel was one of the first to go into business for himself at only 25 years old, laying the foundations of what would become his family company. Modest and honest, he dedicated himself to producing quality eyewear, driven by a love of craftsmanship. Proud of his heritage, he spent his life balancing his love for the land with his passion for eyewear.

For four generations, MOREL has been based in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park, devoting its expertise to creating and marketing iconic eyewear around the world.
